Commentary on the CCM

by DeWayne Varnes

The introduction states: "Unity and mission are organically linked in the Body of Christ, the church."

Section one states: "This agreement describes the relation between our two church bodies. It does not define the church which is a gift of God's grace."

After the death, resurrection, and physical ascension of Jesus into heaven, then upon the coming of the Holy Spirit (Pentecost) THE CHURCH was born. The Holy Sprit descended in full measure into all believers. 1 Peter 3-18 states that Christ was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit. A new age, the point that separates the "organic" connection of before from the "Spiritual" connection that is after. The real presence of the Body of Christ is the Holy Spirit, THE CHURCH; As in, My Kingdom is not of this World, and "I will be with you always."

How can it be possible to credibly interpret theology and practice without first defining the REAL but invisible Church instituted by God?
